The Medjool Date:

A high fiber diet helps to ensure that your hormones remain balanced and can aid in the release of excess estrogens in your body. Additionally, Fiber helps to regulate your bowel movements and for many women, that time of the month can lead to either loose stool or constipation. Medjool dates are great for helping to keep you “regular” and help to combat both of these common PMS and period symptoms.

Walnuts on a table

Walnuts:

Fun fact about walnuts, they are loaded with Omega-3s and are in fact one of nature’s best plant-based sources of this healthy fat. Want to know a fun fact about Omega 3’s? They have been proved to be as effective as ibuprofen in numerous studies when it comes to combatting pain associated with cramps and bloating.  Consuming walnuts when you are suffering from painful cramps is nature’s secret pain-relieving weapon.

Additionally, they are loaded with zinc which we lose a lot of when we are menstruating.
